Angela Brannon-Baptiste Announces Retirement from It’s All About the Kids® Foundation

SAN DIEGO, CA - After nearly 21 years of dedicated service, Angela Brannon-Baptiste, Co-Founder and President of the Board, has announced her retirement from It’s All About the Kids® Foundation. The Foundation’s mission has been to bridge the weekend food insecurity gap for children in impoverished neighborhoods.

Under Angela’s leadership for over two decades, the foundation has made a profound difference in the community. It has raised over $15,000,000 in charitable funding, provided over 4,000,000 meals for children and their families over the past seven years, has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of children in the local and surrounding areas, and has mentored over 100 local teens, many of whom have gone on to earn undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees, PhDs and run successful businesses.

In 2006, Angela and the teens she mentored met famous football star Jim Brown [see photo above]. He left them all with a statement that made a lasting impression: “You retire at the top of your game, not at the bottom.” With this in mind, she made her decision after over 20 years of tireless work and very many lives changed for the better.

Mrs. Brannon-Baptiste and the It’s All About the Kids® Foundation have earned numerous awards and accommodations throughout the years, with the latest honor being awarded to Angela as the 2023 Nexstar Media Remarkable Women Winner for San Diego.

“With immense gratitude, I extend my thanks to the Board of Directors and the countless individuals and numerous companies who have supported us as volunteers and donors during this amazing journey. Serving the San Diego community has been a true honor,” said Angela.

The charity concluded its operations at the end of 2024. It is working with other non-profit organizations to share resources and partnerships, ensuring continued service to the community.
